Tomato Apple Jam with Chili
Another unusual jam recipe for today - it’s in the fridge will tell you next week how it is. My plan is to eat it with some pork. * 500 g (1 lb) ripe tomatoes * 200 g (7 oz) cooking apples (acidulous) * 1 lime * 1/4-1/2 tsp. dried chili * 4 dl (8.5 pt US/ 7 pt UK) jam sugar 1. Scald the tomatoes, remove the skin and chop the tomatoes 2. Peel the apples and grate them 3. Cut the limes into halves, grate the peel and squeeze 4. Mix the apples, chopped tomatoes and chili in a pot 5. Let it cook under a lid for 10 minutes. 6. Add the jam sugar and let it book for another 5 minutes - remember to stir! 7. Take the pot off the heat and remove the foam. 8. Fill the cleaned and hot jars . 9. Put into refrigiator or a cool place. Enjoy! |
