Rye Bread Sandwich By Susanne Floe Being Danish a sandwich for me will be either an open face sandwich with rye bread or a normal sandwich but still using rye bread. At the moment I am in France (and yes they do have rye bread here - after some search ;-)) this is what I came up with: 1 Slice of rye bread divided into 2 1 lettuce (bitter ones are the most common in France) 3 Cornichons (small pickled cucumbers) Pate Salad dressing On one of the rye bread slices you spread a little salad dressing Add the lettuce On the other slice of rye bread you spread the pate Add the cornichons Then just ad one slice on top of the other. That is it - easy, fast and healthy. I also: Replace the pate with sliced eggs and add sliced tomatoes. This is by no means a French recipe it is more Danish :-)
